Mahindra, the biggest 4×4 manufacturer from India will start in 2007 the production of Dacia Logan models at the Mumbai factory. The start for the sale of Dacia Logan is set for the first trimester. The indian company has 51% of the mixt company Renault-Mahindra and will invest 22 million $ and will make 50,000 Dacia Logan per year in the first phase. The production of the Dacia Logan has begun in september 2004 at the Pitesti factory from Romania. The Dacia Logan is also produced in Rusia since april 2005 and in Maroc and Columbia. Also, the Dacia Logan will be made in Iran by the end of this year and in Brazil starting from 2007.
The second factory from India will probably enhance the production of the Dacia Logan and Mahindra models to 500,000/year.
