Renault has finally achieved what it has been planning for so many years. One of most popular models of the company Dacia Logan is one of the top six best selling cars in Russia. In 2010, Renault was able to sell 6,743 units which was 31 percent more than what it had sold in 2009.
Also, the company secured the sixth place in the top-selling auto brands in Russia with total sales of about 63,000 units which was up 17 percent from 2009.
The top 4 places were captured by Russian car maker AvtoVAZ in which Renault holds 25 percent stake. Ford Focus managed to get the 5th position with sales of 67,000 units which were up 30 percent from 2009. December was the best month for Ford Focus where the sales grew by 81 percent to 8360 units.
The sales of light commercial vehicles and new cars registered a growth of 60 percent in December 2010 because the government introduced scrapping premium. Poor economic conditions of the country forced the government to introduce programs that help in increasing vehicle sales in Russia. In 2009 Europe and United States have already come out with programs that will help in improving sales of car makers.
