Envision Motor Company is planning to sell the electric version of Dacia based vehicles from its dealership network from June. EMC is planning to launch a utility van, seven-passenger wagon and a small pickup truck.
The prices of these Dacia Logan based vehicles is likely to be below $30,000 as battery powered cars get a tax credit of $7,500. Apart from tax credit these cars are also entitled to sales tax waivers and state incentives. The price of the electric model of Dacia is double as compared to the combustion engine version that sells at around $13,500.
The test drive version of the 3 vehicles that EMC plans to launch is scheduled to be launched by May. The vehicles are to be powered by an AC motor that is connected to a 24 kWh battery. The maximum speed of the vehicles is likely to 75 mph. A single battery charge can help you cover a range of about 200 miles. The Electric Cars come with an onboard charger that is compatible with your 110V household circuit. It will take you about 6 to 8 hours to charge the battery completely. All the models will be assembled in Europe and will have a nationwide warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles and has battery warranty of 100,000 miles.
The cars has already passed standard crash test and are equipped with ABS, power steering, power windows and power lock.
