Dacia Logan the best selling foreign car in Russia
Even though the sales of new cars in Russia have dropped, Dacia Logan remained the best selling foreign car in Russia. Renault Logan registered a sale of over 7000 units in the first two months of the year. The sales of new cars of other manufacturers registered a steep drop with sales of Lada dropping by 36 per cent, Ford dropping by 60 per cent and Honda dropping by 70 per cent.
In first two months the sale of new cars was 165,000 which are much lower than last year’s sale of 252,000 cars. Lada was the highest selling car with 59,000 cars followed by Chevrolet 20,800 and Ford 18,000.
Dacia Duster showcased at Geneva Motor Show
Geneva Motor show saw the release of the much awaited Dacia Duster from Renault. The company plans to launch the Duster, two years after its launch of the popular Dacia Sandero. The SUV is likely to the road in most European and African countries by the middle of this year. Dacia Duster is likely to be manufactured in the company’s Curitiba plant in Brazil.
Dacia Duster is the sixth model from the makers of Dacia Logan and base model of the SUV is priced at 10,500 Euros. The higher end model of the SUV is priced at 15,600 Euros and is likely to be named Laureate. The base model of Dacia Duster is likely to 5,000 Euros less than other SUV’s available in the market. To increase the market share of the Duster in Romania, the company is offering it under a car scarppage program.
Dacia Duster is a compact SUV and has a width of 1.82 meters and the length of 4.31 meters. The SUV has high ground clearance, well defined wheel arches, imposing chrome grills and well built tyres and suspensions which can handle almost all terrains. Other features of Dacia Duster include alloy wheels, satin finish exterior mirrors, rear and front skid plates, roof bars and sills. Dacia Duster is an extremely comfortable car which can seat up to 5 adults and offers good legroom space to both front and rear occupants. The boot space of Dacia Duster varies depending on the version you buy. Dacia Duster is an extremely safe SUV that has Bosch 8.1 anti-braking system, emergency brake assist and electronic brake force distribution. The SUV is fitted three point seat belts and two front airbags, which make vary depending on the market that it is launched.
Dacia Duster has open panel hollow sections, wax injection and treatment of the under body, stone chip protection and sealing of exterior joints to prevent corrosion. The SUV will come with a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty in most markets. Dacia Duster is expected to be the third highest selling car of the company after Dacia Sandero and Dacia Logan Sedan.
