Renault will begin the assembly of the new Dacia Sandero model at the Avtoframos factory from Moscow, in 2010, declared a spokeperson of the french auto manufacturer.
Sandero will become the second Renault model, after the Dacia Logan, to be produced in Russia’s capital. Patricio Neffa, the project’s director for the Dacia Logan, announced that the capacity of the Avtoframos factory will be doubled in 2009, to 160,000 cars per year. The total investment in the increased production will be 150 million dollars.
Renault sold 101,200 cars in Russia last year, and the Logan is one of the most successful foreign models sold in Russia.
